Using the Generate References Feature
The Generate References feature allows you to create a new reference from a full-text PDF that you have uploaded to your project. This is particularly useful when a PDF does not match an existing reference in your project. The feature uses AI to automatically extract key information from the PDF and create a new reference record.
When to use this feature:
Use this feature when you upload a full-text PDF to your project, and the system is unable to find a matching reference.
How to Generate a Reference from a PDF:
1. Navigate to References in the main menu
2.Click on the Manage Attachments tab.
3.On the right-hand side of the page, click the Bulk Upload button.
4.Upload your PDF file. If the system cannot find a matching reference, the PDF will be placed in the "No Matches" section.
5.Click on the "No Matches" section to view the unmatched PDFs.
6.Select the PDF you wish to use by checking the box next to its name.
7.Click the "Generate Reference" button.
8.A pop-up dialog box will appear. Here, you can configure the new reference as needed, including:
Adding labels and tags, Setting the RefID OR Making other adjustments to the reference details.
Once you are satisfied with the settings, click "Save."
The newly created reference will then be saved in your project, and the PDF will be correctly attached to it.
Editing the Generated Reference
If the AI-generated reference contains any incorrect information, you can always edit it manually:
1. Go to References > Edit references.
2. Search for the RefID of the newly created reference.
3. Click "Edit reference" to make any necessary changes.
